Stefan Nagler is a registered psychotherapist with over 20 years experiences working in public mental health services, NGOs and a private psychotherapy practice. He has worked extensively in the field of eating disorders, sexual offending and personality disorders. He has run therapy groups for men for many years. He has also been involved in personal development programs and counsellor training programs. As part of his work he has worked with CYFS, the court, restorative justice, Community Mental Health services and many Multi-Disciplinary-Teams.
Originally Stefan was trained in Germany as an electronic engineer. He worked in this field in NZ between 1992 and 2004.
The range of difficulties he works with include anger problems, anxiety / panic attacks, eating disorders, depression, sexual and emotional abuse, internet-related difficulties, and issues with intimacy and sexuality.
Stefan offers couples and family therapy in addition to individual psychotherapy and can offer therapy in German and English.
He offers Supervision for group work and individual therapy.
His special interest is in bringing Mind and Body in balance. He is bringing mindfulness practices to his therapeutic approaches.
Originally trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Stefan has also trained in psychodrama, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mentalization based therapy (MBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprogramming (EMDR).
